Titusville, Florida, October 12, 2009 – The opportunity to have a car featured as the subject for the cover story in Car Collector Magazine proved to be the most attractive of several items auctioned at the Antique Automobile Club of America “Night at the Museum” Gala during the annual AACA Hershey Region meet on October 7, 2009.
The cover feature, donated by Car Collector Magazine, brought a successful bid of $4,500, handily contributing more to the AACA than any of the thirteen other items which included a one-day car control class at the BMW Driving Experience donated by BMW and a two-day NASCAR Experience at Lowe’s Motorspeedway for the 2010 Coca Cola 600 and Carquest 300 donated by Lowe’s Motorspeedway and Hendrick Motorsports.
The successful bidder subsequently noted, “I really like Car Collector. It’s one of my favorite magazines and I think one of my cars, maybe the Ruxton, will be a great subject for the cover story.”
The story is anticipated to run, depending upon editorial schedules, some time in early 2010. Car Collector Magazine is proud to have helped support the AACA and its many important contributions to the car collecting hobby.
